Redu Space Services (RSS) has a vacancy for a member of the Maintenance Team at the ESA Security and Education Center (ESEC), in Redu in the Ardennes region of Belgium.
The Maintenance team provides support services to the various services and infrastructures. They are primarily responsible to perform the preventive and corrective maintenance of the various antennas and subsystems, electronic / RF equipment, security systems (CCTV, access control systems, intruder detection system, Fire Detection equipment).
The Maintenance team has a regular interaction with other RSS teams and with the customers to fulfil the Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.As a member of the Team you will report directly to the Maintenance Team Leader.

L'équipe Maintenance assure le support des différents services et infrastructures. Ils sont principalement responsables d'effectuer la maintenance préventive et corrective des différentes antennes et sous-systèmes, des équipements électroniques/RF, des systèmes de sécurité (CCTV, systèmes de contrôle d'accès, système de détection d'intrusion, équipement de détection d'incendie).
L'équipe de maintenance a une interaction régulière avec les autres équipes RSS et avec les clients pour répondre aux exigences de l'accord de niveau de service (SLA).
En tant que membre de l'équipe, vous rapporterez directement team Leader de la maintenance.
In this position you will :
- Be accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned antenna and equipment, including detailed and accurate documentation, in accordance with Belgium standards
- Maintain logbooks and preventive maintenance procedures up to date, including reporting, on assigned equipment or systems to ensure it operates in a safe, timely, effective, and efficient manner
- Work orders execution and follow up within defined timeframes
- Be accountable for clear and effective communication with clients and suppliers
- Perform testing procedures and participate in new systems acceptance, if required
- Generate technical documents like spare and repair requests and anomaly reports in due time
- Back-up of Security infrastructure activities – Zone 3 & Zone 5
- Calibration of tools and management of maintenance inventory tools
- Support the Small Satellite team (Proba satellites), as and when necessary, to carry out their duties:
- learning satellite operations by following training given by the team
- filling reports, making documentation, performing tasks assigned (actions list), executing the daily tasks and automate them
- monitoring the nominal satellite passes and possibly performing the nominal operations.

- Video Surveillance Systems / ACS- Access Control System / IDS - Intruder Detection System

- Small Satellite Operations, this also implies many IT activities performed in a Linux environment
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Be a national of a Member State of the European Union
- Hold a valid EU Secret Security Clearance or be entitled to obtain it from the relevant NSA
- Have a Bachelor in Engineering preferably in the Space domain
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment
- Python knowledge and shell scripts capability (bash, tcsh, tcl, expect…) are required
- Radio Frequency knowledge would be considered as a strong asset
- Good analytical skills;
- Strong motivation, capacity of learning and problem-solving minded;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Basic Knowledge of AutoCAD/Visio;
- Fluent in spoken and written French and English;
- Team worker/ autonomous / result and customer oriented;
