To support the growth of our European Technology Center (ETC) in Brussels, we are looking for a Research Technicians. In ETC we strive to develop and maintain state-of-the-art capabilities to advance research in support for businesses throughout ExxonMobil. Research topics span from the discovery of novel catalytic material for new or more efficient production processes, to the development of next generation packaging solutions maximizing recyclability, via implementation of latest analytical techniques.

What will you do?

Based on candidate's qualifications and business needs, the successful candidate could join the film or polymer testing laboratory, the chemical intermediate testing laboratory or one of the analytical science laboratories. As a Research Technician, you ensure safe lab operations and quality of results and reporting on a daily basis. You are involved in R&D activities supporting existing and future businesses of ExxonMobil (Recycling, next generation feeds, advanced materials…) and receive guidance from senior technicians, laboratory supervisor and internal customers.  

Your role and responsibilities:

•    Be trained in a variety of sample preparation and analysis techniques.

•    Perform daily sample preparation, testing on solids or liquids and analyse data.

•    Collate and report data in a meaningful manner for internal requestors.

•    Collaborate with other experienced technicians from other laboratories.

For this role we are looking for candidates with

•    Strong safety mind set.
•    Professional Bachelor in chemistry or biology, freshly graduated or with less than 2 years of experience
•    Interest in teamwork (at laboratory, department and Technology Center level).
•    Good level of spoken and written English. 
•    Developed analytical mind.
•    General interest in applied research, developing technical knowledge, operation and maintenance of equipment.
•    The desire to work in a fast-paced, diverse and inclusive environment.
